In the Nursery 2 class, children recently took part in a fun and engaging lacing activity designed to enhance their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Using brightly colored laces and various shapes, the young learners practiced threading the laces through holes in cards, beads, and other objects. As they carefully worked on their lacing, they not only improved their dexterity but also built patience and concentration. This hands-on learning method allowed the children to develop their skills at their own pace, with guidance from teachers to encourage their progress.
Beyond the physical benefits, the lacing activity also helped foster cognitive development. The children practiced pattern recognition as they followed simple or complex lacing sequences, which introduced them to early math concepts. It was a fun yet educational experience, offering both creativity and structured learning. By the end of the session, the kids were proud of their colorful, laced creations, all while gaining confidence in their abilities and strengthening their readiness for future learning challenges.
