Building Safety Awareness from an Early Age: Fire and Earthquake Drill at Kipinä Kids

Created on 15 January 2026

At Kipinä Kids, children learn not only academic skills but also essential life skills that help them stay safe and confident in real-life situations. Through a structured fire and earthquake drill, children were introduced to basic safety awareness in a calm, age-appropriate, and engaging way. The activity aimed to help children recognize emergency situations and understand the importance of following instructions, staying calm, and caring for themselves and others.

During the drill, teachers guided the children step by step on what to do when a fire alarm sounds or when an earthquake occurs. Children practiced simple actions such as stopping activities, protecting themselves, lining up safely, and moving to designated safe areas. By practicing these routines together, children learned the importance of listening, cooperation, and quick but orderly responses, all while feeling supported and reassured by their teachers.

Learning about fire and earthquake safety at an early age helps children develop confidence and awareness without creating fear. At Kipinä Kids, these drills are part of our commitment to holistic education—where safety, responsibility, and preparedness are taught alongside curiosity and creativity. Through hands-on experiences like this, children gain valuable knowledge that empowers them to respond appropriately in emergencies, building a strong foundation for lifelong safety awareness.
