As part of our All About Me theme with the sub-theme My Home, this practical life activity helps children connect their learning to everyday experiences at home. The children are invited to wash dishes using child-friendly bins, along with safe utensils, soap, and sponges. Each child chooses an item to wash, scrubbing and rinsing it independently while the teacher models how to place clean items on a towel and gently wipe them dry. This familiar home-based activity makes learning meaningful and relatable for young children.

Through this experience, children learn that they can be helpful members of their family at home. The activity encourages basic cleaning and tidying skills while developing fine motor control, coordination, and independence. Most importantly, it builds confidence as children realize, “I can do it myself!”—a key message in understanding themselves and their role within their home environment.
