Sensory play is a wonderful way to support the development of babies aged 1 to 2 years. At this stage, little ones are curious and eager to explore the world around them through touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound. Sensory activities help stimulate their senses while enhancing cognitive and motor skills.
Simple activities like exploring textured objects, playing with water, or feeling different materials (soft, rough, squishy) provide endless opportunities for learning. Safe sensory bins with items like rice, oats, or colorful pom-poms allow babies to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Adding sound elements, like rattles or shakers, also encourages auditory development.
