Kipinä Kids Surabaya recently transformed into a snowy wonderland as our children enjoyed a delightful Winter Party, bringing the magic of the cold season into our tropical city. Even though Surabaya has no snow, our young learners were given the opportunity to experience winter through hands-on activities, sensory exploration, and imaginative play. The event was designed to spark curiosity and help children understand how winter looks, feels, and sounds in different parts of the world.
Throughout the celebration, children learned essential concepts about the winter season—such as how temperatures change, why snow forms, and what animals do during colder months. They participated in engaging activities like “snow” sensory play, building pretend snowmen, and discovering winter-themed stories that introduced vocabulary such as cold, freeze, snowflakes, and mittens. These activities supported early literacy, cognitive development, and inquiry-based learning, all aligned with Kipinä’s play-based and experiential approach.
Beyond the fun, the Winter Party also encouraged teamwork, creativity, and confidence as children explored together. They practiced communication skills while sharing their discoveries, strengthened fine-motor coordination through craft activities, and developed social-emotional awareness by working collaboratively with friends. This joyful winter celebration not only brought smiles and excitement but also enriched the children’s understanding of global seasons, helping them connect to the world beyond their immediate environment.
