Exploring Hot and Cold: A Fun Science Learning Experience for K1 Students at Kipina Kids Surabaya

Created on 1 January 2026

Kipina Kids Surabaya recently held an exciting and meaningful learning activity where our K1 students explored the concept of temperature by learning about hot and cold. Through hands-on experiences and guided discussions, the children were introduced to basic science concepts in a fun and age-appropriate way. This activity was designed to spark curiosity and help students understand their surroundings through real-life experiences.

During the lesson, the children observed and touched different objects that represented hot and cold (in a safe and supervised setting). They compared items such as warm water and cold water, ice, and everyday objects with different temperatures. Teachers encouraged the students to describe what they felt using simple vocabulary like “hot,” “cold,” and “warm,” helping them build language skills alongside scientific understanding.

This interactive learning experience not only strengthened the children’s cognitive development but also trained their sensory awareness and critical thinking. By learning through play and exploration, K1 students at Kipina Kids Surabaya were able to grasp basic science concepts joyfully and confidently, making learning both meaningful and memorable.
