At Kipina Bogor, the Owls (Kindergarten 1) children enjoyed an engaging Mandarin lesson where they learned how to count and recognize numbers in Mandarin. The teacher (Laoshi) introduced the numbers one to seven using both characters and pronunciation: 一 (yī), 二 (èr), 三 (sān), 四 (sì), 五 (wŭ), 六 (liù), and 七 (qī), while the children practiced repeating them aloud with enthusiasm. To make the lesson more interactive, Laoshi guided the children in counting the number of eggs and matching them with the correct Mandarin numbers, helping them connect quantities with written characters. Through these fun and hands-on activities, the students became more familiar with both the written forms and sounds of the numbers, developing their Mandarin language skills while also strengthening their cognitive abilities, particularly in number recognition and early counting skills.
