Preparing our young learners for emergency drills requires a gentle approach that turns safety steps into empowering routines. To ease anxiety before our practice, we introduced clear, step-by-step picture cards and provided simple context to help children understand why drills happen. Walking through each visual cue before any alarms sounded allowed the children to build muscle memory and trust their teachers. As a result, our children completed the live drill calmly and efficiently, transforming a potentially scary event into a predictable activity. Through gentle repetition, our students showed that even our little learners can build the skills and confidence needed to stay safe
