Sometimes, all children need is a basin of water, a few simple materials, and the freedom to explore.
At Kipinä Kids Kelapa Gading 2, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and learn through meaningful and purposeful play. Water play does not always require a swimming pool. Simple materials such as basins, mini pools, containers, and everyday household items can create wonderful learning opportunities for children.
During one of our outdoor play sessions, the children explored a variety of water-based activities. From washing and squeezing colourful fabrics to scooping, pouring, fishing, and exploring floating objects, every activity offered an opportunity for discovery.
What may look like simple play actually helps children develop important skills. Squeezing, grasping, and pouring strengthen their fine motor skills, while reaching, lifting, carrying, and moving around support their gross motor development.
It is a reminder that meaningful learning does not always need elaborate materials or setups. Sometimes, the simplest activities bring the most opportunities to learn.
