Learning CVC words became an exciting fishing adventure as our little learners caught, blended, and decoded words one fish at a time!

Through our CVC Fishing Activity, children turned early reading practice into a fun and hands-on experience. Using magnetic fishing rods, they “caught” colorful fish and then decoded the simple CVC (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant) words they found. 🎣🔤

As they practiced blending individual letter sounds together, children strengthened their phonemic awareness and early reading skills while building confidence in recognizing and decoding simple words.

The activity also encouraged children to develop fine motor control and hand-eye coordination as they carefully aimed, hooked, and lifted each fish.

By combining movement, play, and literacy, children discovered that learning to read can be active, engaging, and lots of fun! 🌈📖✨
